Punjab Congress is not strengthened yet

disappointment

The Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee has been sitting silently as assembly elections are not far and moreover, there is no sign of strengthening of the party by the PPCC President Capt Amarinder Singh.

As per the information, the party has been working not even up to the mark in the state and still there is factionalism prevailing in the party. Even Capt Amarinder Singh has been waiting for the official announcement of his candidature as CM candidate of the party in the assembly polls.

The political atmosphere in Punjab Congress is not heated up as party cadre is waiting for the official announcement of the Chief Ministerial candidate by the party high command.

However, the differences between the top leadership have not been sinking as still there are factions against Capt Amarinder Singh. The former PPCC President and incumbent Rajya Sabha MP Partap Singh Bajwa is not in the good terms with Amarinder. Even the other Rajya Sabha MP, Shamsher Singh Dullo has cornered himself from Amarinder because the PPCC president had given the name of Hans Raj Hans for the Rajya Sabha nomination but when Dullo approached the high command, the name of Sufi singer was dropped from the list in the eleventh hour.

The two senior leaders Jagmeet Brar and Bir Devinder Singh already facing expulsion from the party and definitely their absence would affect the party in the assembly polls.

There is no much time left for the assembly polls and the party has not pulled up its socks to give a tough fight to the rivals. Already the Punjab Congress has witnessed two consecutive defeats in the assembly polls. If the party would not be strengthened its cadre across the state then definitely it would taste the third consecutive defeat in the polls.
It is evident that the Congress leaders have not eliminated their differences and the rift between the top leadership would put the party on a political ventilator.

Captain’s hunger for supremacy amounts to downfall of Congress

The factionalism and internal rifts of Congress party are not hidden from anyone and this is known to be one of the major reasons of Congress’ downfall on the political ground. This is not a new “trend” in Congress when one member would blame other for all the wrong doings. In this battle of blames and lies, Captain Amarinder Singh seems to be taking all the “benefits”. He does not look worried due to these rifts at all, but is constantly trying to turn these internal rifts beneficial for him.

We can do better analysis on the situation by taking the example of Gulchain Singh and Shakeel Ahmed. They were not the strongest contenders but were still given powerful positions. The reason was their “close links” with the royal Singh. Harish Chaudhary, another member when tried to make his point was treated badly in the party, as Captain Amarinder Singh never wants to transfer his powers to anyone else.

Also, as per sources, when Pratap Singh Bajwa was the president of Congress, Amarinder left no chance to take his position and wrote a letter to Mrs. Gandhi saying that bajwa is a “drug lord”. Not just that, when there was doubt of making Mr. Singh, the president of party, he threatened the high authorities to form a new party of his own, after which he was granted the “president” position.

If we look at the recent incident of welcoming Asha Kumari in Punjab, sources claim that this happened because of the Captain himself. He wanted to take charge of the party hence appointed Asha Kumari here.

From all above-mentioned incidents, it is clearly exposed that what Captain craves the most is power and charge. He would never allow someone else to take his position.  But here we would want to remind Captain Amarinder Singh that “TEAM WORK” is a practice that is important to accomplish any project, so you better learn it.

Expelled Members: A New Trouble for Captain Amarinder Singh & Party

Everyone in Punjab knows about the growing “internal rifts” of the Congress party. Former deputy speaker Bir Devinder Singh and former MP, Jagmeet Singh Brar has been expelled out of the party for not following the party rules, doing anti-party activities, and indiscipline.

Jagmeet Singh Brar & his frustration for Amarinder

Even after getting expelled from the party, Jagmeet Singh Brar continued to speak against former CM, Captain Amarinder Singh and his family. He expressed his frustration towards Amarinder Singh through media and tweets. He was asked to stop these anti-party activities several times and both Prahsant Kishore and AICC general secretary in-charge of Punjab, Shakeel Ahmad, discussed the issue with him. However, getting no positive response from Brar, Congress party decided to expel him from the party “with an immediate effect.”

In a recent interview, Brar claimed to have all the data regarding Amarinder and his family’s Swiss bank accounts. He stated that Amarinder and family have about 860 Crore saved in Swiss bank accounts on the name of Jacaranda trust. He was sure about his claims, and the revelations of ED. He told the media that he would reveal all these details in brief on August 15, 2016. He said that the party has forgiven Amarinder Singh numerous times for his “sins” but this is high time that he has to stand up for his party. He also expressed his discontent on the matter of Khadoor Sahib bypoll, and Talwandi Sabo bypoll.

Bir Devinder Singh: Not happy with Aroosa & Amarinder’s affair

On the other hand, Bir Devinder lashed out at Amarinder Singh for his alleged affair with Aroosa Alam. He warned Amarinder Singh that if he does not leave Aroosa now, he would have to face the same kind of defeat again in the year 2017.

Hide and Seek of Clashes

Apart from this, main members of the party i.e. Charanjit Singh Channi, Rajinder Kaur Bhattal, Prashant Kishore and Captain Amarinder Singh, they all share “not so good” bond with each other. No matter how much they try to hide their “internal conflicts”, Punjabis very well know about the absence of unity and teamwork of Congress party.

Nirvan Singh, another example of dynasty politics in Punjab Congress

The Punjab Congress has been denying the facts of dynasty politics in the party since long but truth can never be extinguished. Amarinder Singh, head of Punjab Congress boldly denied the allegation of dynasty politics and facts say something different. Amarinder Singh, his wife Preneet Kaur who is sitting legislator and former parliamentarian and son Raninder fought election from Lok Sabha seat of Bhatinda. For Amarinder, this is not dynasty politics in Punjab Congress.

201

Punjab Congress has exposed in front of the people over the issue of dynasty politics as the entire family is at the party and both husband wife enjoying prestigious positions in the party. But, for Amarinder Singh, this is not dynasty politics.

A new face is being emerged in Punjab Congress and he is Nirvan Singh. The younger son of Amarinder’s daughter Jai InderKaur, Nirvan has returned from the UK after completed his post-graduation.

Nirvan Singh has been taking care of his maternal grandfather’s campaigns and he is also actively participating in social media. Amarinder has assigned the task of Nirvan’s training to his poll strategist Prashant Kishore.

Kishore has been taking Nirvan to different places so that he could be acquainted with the activities of the party as well as with the party cadre. However, Amarinder has not formally announced Nirvan’s name in the party but the sources in the party revealed that he would be given prominent position in the party.

Earlier, Amarinder took a u-turn on dynasty politics. He told the media that his son Raninder was no longer interested in politics so, there was no question of dynasty politics. Moreover, he had announced that the loyal party worker would be the replacement of Raninder.

The sources in the party said that Amarinder was scared after the Raninder exit as earlier his brother left the Congress so Nirvan was the only hope of Amarinder. He kept on insisting Nirvan to enter the political arena. Nirvan had planned to set up his consultancy in the UK but he dropped the idea to join his maternal grandfather.

Even Nirvanadmitted media that he has been helping his maternal granddad and handling his Twitter and Facebook account so that the reach with in the masses could be increased.

If this is not the definition of dynasty politics for Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee President Amarinder Singh then there must be another word for the proper definition. However, one this is being cleared that the tradition of family politics still continues in Punjab Congress. The political family of Congress party in Punjab don’t want the reins of the party in other hands.

Infighting with in Punjab Congress still on

This time Bir Devinder targets Sukhjinder Randhawa

The suspended Congress leader and former Deputy Speaker, Bir Devinder Singh has been firing the salvos against his party leaders. He was suspended by PPCC President because of a write up spat between the duos.

After a day of his suspension, he has fired another salvo at Dera Baba Nanak MLA Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa. He continued his tirade against his own party leaders. Randhawa has been leading the committee formed by Amarinder Singh to prepare a report of further course of action against Devinder.

Devinder called Randhawa an “Amateur Hangman”

Davinder called Randhawa an “amateur hangman” and told Amarinder Singh to assign a “dignified senior” to head the inquiry against him. Devinder had been suspended after the write up spat between him and Amarinder.

He said, “If he wants to hang me, he should at least assign an experienced hangman. I am willing to be hanged but at least consider my personality and assign a senior man. I do not want to be tried by an MLA, much junior to me. His father and I were colleagues.”

Former PPCC presidents sitting idle with nothing to do, say Devinder

It’s now open that Congress is divided in the state and moreover, no leader showing respect to another. Devinder said that Amarinder should have assigned the task of inquiry to a senior member. He said, “Why cannot he assign this task to an ex-PPCC president. Quite a few are sitting idle with nothing to do.”

Amarinder wants to slit my throat, says Devinder

Devinder said, “I am not among those who snatch the microphone to speak. Amarinder knows how my vocal chords dried up in Amritsar when I asked people to vote for him as their MP. Amarinder wants to slit the same throat.”

Infighting within Congress will defeat the part in assembly polls

The senior Congress leader Manish Tewari had advised the party leaders to not fight with each other. He had lambasted the Punjab Congress leaders to maintain unity in the party otherwise the infighting of the Congress leaders will defeat the party in the assembly polls.

Congress under Captain is fighting a losing battle

“General of losing battle doesn’t command respect from his soldiers. After being responsible for two back-to-back defeats in Punjab assembly polls, Captain Amarinder Singh seems to be fighting a losing battle.”

amarinder-story_647_071815013734.jpg

Grand old party of the country has been on the verge of collapse in wake of family legacy being run in the Gandhi family and internal feud. Punjab unit is no different either and things have gone from bad to worse in past few years. Internal feud and differences between party leaders have risen to a level where all the Congress leaders in the state perceive themselves as the future CM.

Maharaja’s losing battle

Member of Patiala royal family neither commands respects among party leadership nor enjoys mass appeal in Punjab. He was still entrusted with the responsibility of state leadership of the party.

Just to prove a point, Captain Amarinder had wage a war against Congress high command. Captain had gone on to threaten to quit if former PPCC president Partap Singh Bajwa was not removed from the post of Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee (PPCC), president. Congress president Sonia Gandhi had no option but to give up to captain’s unreasonable demand.

Tug of war between senior Congress leaders

Senior Congress leaders have starting raising the voice dissent against Captain Amarinder Singh. It must be noted that senior Congress leader, Bir Davinder Singh gone on record to question Captain’s style of functioning and even went on record to state that Congress is fighting a losing battle under the leadership of Captain Amarinder Singh in state. While Bir Davinder had to pay a huge price as he was suspended for raising his voice, but murmur against state leadership are rising higher day by day.

Punjab Congress struggle hard as Assembly Elections near Approaches

Alleged as the main challenger in the forthcoming Assembly Elections 2017 in Punjab, the Congress party is gearing hard to develop a constructive vote bank. The poll elections are less than a year away now, the unit of Punjab Congress party has been striving to turn the tide in its favor. But rather to moving towards progress, it seems to head on a self-destruction way.

The Congress’ chances turn out to be fading in the assembly elections due to the increasing in-fighting in the party. The ministers and members of the unit failed to share a cordial relationship. It has been discovered in the recent rallies and meetings held by Punjab congress in different parts of the state in view to share the party plans with its members or supporters.

The Punjab Congress chief Captain Amarinder Singh himself was ashamed on finding such nuisance and lack of trust among the party members itself. He tried to pacify the environment but no one bothered to pay any heed to him. Such incidents would definitely bring them no win. The tension grips the Congress people.

ASSEMBLY ELECTIONS IN PUNJABWhile the opposition parties take full advantage of the situation and leaving no chance to deface the congress party. Even the appointment of Prashant Kishore, a famous poll election strategist, is not able to unite the team as whole. While trying to give a political makeover to Punjab Congress chief, his own reputation is at stake in the state.

The appointment of Amarinder Singh as state chief by Rahul Gandhi (Vice President, Congress) is not welcomed by every member of the party. Rahul failed to please the disgruntled sections of the party. Next, in an effort to bring balance in PPCC (Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee), Rahul Gandhi put Ambika Soni (former Union Minister) as in charge of Election Campaign Committee. Again this move did not go well with Amarinder Singh.

The situation goes haywire when party leaders started raising petty issues relating to own constituency. The lack of trust and unity ensue the congress unit. A team which is not able to ally its own people than how could it be able to bind the entire Punjab?is a question to ponder upon.

In short, the Punjab Congress has been hurtling from one crisis to another and its leaders are voicing our differently.

Jagmeet Brar opened up front against Amarinder

Brar lambasted the PPCC President for his wrong attitude

BrarAmar

The Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee Chief Capt Amarinder Singh expelled the senior Congress leader Bir Devinder Singh for six years from the party. However, the firebrand Congress leader and former MP, Jagmeet Brar lambasted the PPCC Chief for his wrong attitude towards party’s senior leader.

Bir Devinder was suspended from Congress party after a write up spat with Capt Amarinder. On Friday, Capt Amarinder Singh expelled him from the Congress party. They both were not in the good terms with each other.

Jagmeet Brar criticised Amarinder against the expulsion of Devinder

The senior Congress leader Jagmeet Brar has criticises the PPCC President for his attitude towards the party senior leaders. He said that Amarinder has been indulging himself in the petty politics with in the party leadership.

Jagmeet

Brar tweeted, “Birdevinder singh’s expulsion from party not in good taste, smacks of personal vendetta and Highhandedness by Amarinder Singh.

He said that the arrogant Capt Amarinder himself thinks about his personal gains and he is against the people who give him the feedback to improve himself. Brar stressed that the party’s high command is aware of the fact that who is right or who is wrong. But, when the entire party is struggling hard to prepare itself for the Punjab assembly polls, why Capt Amarinder Singh is acting like Ahmad Shah Abdali.

Brar challenged Amarinder to contest from Lambi assembly

The incumbent Punjab Congress head has been saying that Manpreet Badal would contest from Lambi constituency. The former MP Brar has told Amarinder to contest from the Lambi constituency rather than pitting Manpreet Badal against his uncle. Brar said, “Manpreet’s father forfeited his security deposit (in 2012 Assembly polls) and he himself lost to Harsimrat Badal in the 2014 parliamentary elections.” He further said that Amarinder is scared off from contesting from Lambi constituency so that’s why he is deliberately putting his efforts to provoke Manpreet to contest from the seat in the Punjab polls.

Capt Amarinder to suppress Bir Devinder

Amarinder to expel the former deputy speaker

CONGRESS 94

The write up spat between Capt Amarinder Singh and the former deputy speaker, Bir Devinder Singh has projected the wrong image of the party in front of the public. Devinder had openly written against Amarinder Singh in English daily. Even the PPCC President Capt Amarinder had also replied him through his write up next day in the same English daily.

Later, the former deputy speaker was suspended for raising his voice against Amarinder. The Punjab Congress head suspended him for the preliminary membership of the party and an internal inquiry was marked by making a three member team of legislator for the further course of action.

A three-member committee, constituted earlier this month to look into suspended party leader Bir Devinder Singh’s outburst against Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee (PPCC) chief Capt Amarinder Singh have recommended Devinder’s expulsion.

Punjab Congress heading towards the dooms day

The three member committee has given its recommendation to expel the senior leader from the party for his anti-party activities. It seems that the Punjab Congress has been heading towards the dooms day. The party has lost the two political battles and third battle would be the crucial one for Congress. Instead of concentrating for the polls, Amarinder is busy in firing the prominent faces from the party.

Bir Devinder had raised an objection on the three members committee that the inquiry should have done by a senior Congress leader of former PPCC president. He had alleged that Amarinder framed the team of his loyalists and definitely, the committee would prepare a report to please the Punjab Congress head. Bir Devinder had accused Amarinder of inaccessibility, a charge refuted by the PPCC chief.

Amarinder’s dictatorial attitude will put Punjab Congress in history books

It is clear that Punjab Congress has failed to unite the leadership within the party and moreover, in the different district or local level units. The dictatorial attitude adopted by Amarinder against his party leaders and workers would lead the party towards the third consecutive defeat. The next generation would read about the history of Punjab Congress in books only as after the third defeat, Congress would be finished from the state.

Infighting within Punjab Congress still on

“After Bir Devinder, it’s time for the former Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee President, Partap Singh Bajwa to target Captain Amarinder Singh and his “autocratic” behavior”

captain bajwa rift

Earlier, former Deputy Speaker, Bir Devinder Singh got suspended by PPCC President Captain Amarinder Singh because of a write up spat between the duos. On his suspension, Bir said, “I do not know I have been suspended. If I have been suspended then I can say that Amarinder would have put his sagacity and wisdom at stake while deciding action against me. As my vocal chords had dried up when I canvassed for him in Amritsar, I am sure he would have been pained by this decision. Captain has taken a destructive path and has been destroying himself as well as the party in Punjab.”

Bajwa accused Captain
In a row, after Bir Devinder, now Bajwa is accusing Captain for his oppressive behavior, while he visited Jallandhar with his group leaders and workers for the rally which was being organized by Captain. They were simply ignored by Captain and his team and were not allowed to speak in the rally. Not even a single microphone was given to Bajwa group of leaders in such huge rally.

Not only this, but Captain made fun of Bajwa, saying, “Bajwa is now out of Punjab politics and I am the wholly solely Incharge in Punjab.”

bajwa Captain

Arrogant Captain
This arrogant attitude of Captain had showed publicly that there is lack of respect and unity between Congress leaders. It would not be wrong to say that the party is divided in the state.

Agitated Bajwa and his group of leaders have decided to brainstorm against Captain for his egoistic and high headed attitude. On the 24th of April, there would be a function by Bajwa group to celebrate the Bajwa’s entry in Rajya Sabha, where they would teach Captain a lesson on clean Politics.

Noticeably, Bajwa group did not welcome Captain’s decision of nominating a new comer Hans Raj Hans for Rajya Sabha seat.

With this kind of leadership, the day is not far when Congress would lose its existence in Punjab.
