Congress leader’s remark likening Kanhaiya to the Bhagat Singh draws Public ire

one

The unsung heroes like Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev and Rajguru had fought for the cause on Indian nationalism and had shed their blood for the liberation of the land as well as the people of India, in order to provide them a better life, unregulated by the humiliation of imperialist dominance and colonial exploitation.

But, the true legacy of India’s bravest martyrs is insulted by the Senior Congress leaders Shashi Tharoor, who compared Kanhaiya Kumar with Bhagat Singh. It is worth mentioning here that Kanhaiya Kumar is an accused in a sedition case for raising anti-national slogans at JNU. Bhagat Singh never became the member of the Communist Party of India (CPI), established in 1925-26, of whose student body Kumar is a member.

Congress leader drew Public ire

Senior Congress leader Shashi Tharoor landed in a controversy over insulting one of the greatest freedom fighter of India, Shaheed Bhagat Singh. While addressing a group of students at the JNU, Tharoor, while listing the names of victims of sedition law under British rule had said Bhagat Singh was the Kanhaiya of his time.

“The biggest victims of sedition law under the British rule were Jawaharlal Nehru, Mahatma Gandhi, Bal Gangadhar Tilak, Annie Besant and Bhagat Singh,” said Shashi Tharoor. He further remarked that “Bhagat Singh was the Kanhaiya Kumar of his time”, which drew Public ire.

People against Congress

“Comparing anti-Nationalist Kanhaiya Kumar with Shaheed Bhagat Singh is an insult to the freedom fighter and all the patriots, who chanted ‘Jai Hind’ and ‘Bharat Mata ki Jai’ till their last breath”, said Gurdarshan Singh, who hails from Punjab.

“Shaheed bhagat Singh was a great freedom fighter and how can politicians like Shashi Tharoor compare the duo”, said Manisha, a Delhiite. “Shashi must be punished for his shameful act”, she further added.

Not only it drew Public ire but also politicians took strong exception to Tharoor’s comment saying it was an insult to the “great freedom fighter” as well as all patriots of the country, who laid their lives while fighting for India’s independence.

Strongly lambasting the Congress for standing with the anti-national people, Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) Punjab President Shri Kamal Sharma pointed out that earlier ‘All India Congress Committee’ (AICC) Vice-President Rahul Gandhi had went to JNU, extending his whole-hearted support and solidarity with Kanhaiya, who was arrested on sedition charges and is out on bail. Now, Tharoor has gone to JNU.

CONGRESS 75

It would not be wrong to say that with Tharoor passing the ridiculous comment and visiting JNU, as a messenger of Congress Vice-President, it is very much clear that Congress is now openly pampering anti-national ideology and those pursuing it.

March 23 is the martyrdom day of the Shaheed Bhagat Singh, Rajguru and Sukhdev, who gave supreme sacrifice fighting for ‘Bharat Ki Azadi’.

Every time today’s politicians drag Shaheed Bhagat Singh and appropriate him for their political slugfest which is shameful. The debt of gratitude we Indians owe to Bhagat Singh can never be repaid.
